Refund & Cancellation Policy

This policy explains how payments, cancellations and refunds work for NewsNow Tamil supporter memberships. NewsNow Tamil is published by Pahana Media Pvt Ltd. Reading our news is free; payments are only taken for optional supporter memberships.

What you pay for

A supporter membership gives you ad-free reading, supporters-only content and the supporter newsletter. The price, the billing period (monthly or yearly) and the total amount are shown before you pay. All prices are in Sri Lankan Rupees (LKR).

Payment and delivery

Payments are processed securely by PayHere (cards and mobile wallets). We never see or store your full card details. Your membership is a digital service: it starts immediately after a successful payment and you can see it on your My account page. Nothing is shipped.

Automatic renewal

Memberships renew automatically at the end of each billing period at the price you agreed to, until you cancel. If we ever change the price, we will email you before your next renewal, and the new price will only apply if you continue after that notice.

How to cancel

You can cancel at any time by contacting us at tamil@newsnow.lk or through the Contact Us page with the email address of your account. We will confirm the cancellation by email. After cancelling, no further payments are taken and you keep your benefits until the end of the period you have already paid for.

Refunds

Because the membership starts immediately, payments for a period that has already started are not normally refunded, and we do not give partial refunds for unused days. We will give a full refund when:

• you were charged twice or charged the wrong amount;
• a renewal was charged after you had asked us to cancel;
• you could not access your membership benefits because of a fault on our side that we could not fix.

To ask for a refund, email tamil@newsnow.lk within 14 days of the payment with your account email and the payment date. Approved refunds are returned to the original payment method through PayHere, usually within 7–14 working days depending on your bank.
